NHCC HVAC Controls Replacement
The Charleston District, USACE awarded the contract for mechanical services to replace the existing DDC control system software and necessary hardware devices for a complete new DDC Control System.
Reuse existing sensors, dampers, valves and other control devices where possible.
Controls at the central plant included chiller plant optimization
Replaced air handling unit level controls with ethernet communication type devices.
Replaced all VAV box controllers and all zone sensors.
Perform finish work i.e. patch/paint as needed where zone sensors are replaced and fire caulk all penetrations.
Existing cable trays and raceways were used where possible. Every effort was made to route new wiring through existing penetrations.
Testing and balancing of air systems including terminal boxes and air handling units to pre-construction values.
The building houses both the Naval Clinic and Veterans Affairs Clinic and is a fully active facility with drive through pharmacy. The building remained occupied and functional throughout the duration of construction.
