The Charleston District, USACE awarded the contract for mechanical services to replace the existing DDC control system software and necessary hardware devices for a complete new DDC Control System. 

  • Reuse existing sensors, dampers, valves and other control devices where possible. 

  • Controls at the central plant included chiller plant optimization

  • Replaced air handling unit level controls with ethernet communication type devices. 

  • Replaced all VAV box controllers and all zone sensors.

  • Perform finish work i.e. patch/paint as needed where zone sensors are replaced and fire caulk all penetrations. 

  • Existing cable trays and raceways were used where possible. Every effort was made to route new wiring through existing penetrations.

  • Testing and balancing of air systems including terminal boxes and air handling units to pre-construction values.

The building houses both the Naval Clinic and Veterans Affairs Clinic and is a fully active facility with drive through pharmacy. The building remained occupied and functional throughout the duration of construction.
