Switchgear Facility
The scope of work for this Army Corps of Engineers, Alaska District design-bid-build project encompassed the construction of a shielded High Voltage Switchgear Facility to include a switching station with switchgear and all necessary safety and security equipment, two shielded enclosures, high-altitude electromagnetic pulse (HEMP) protection, concrete pad, and associated electrical infrastructure upgrades at Fort Greely, Alaska for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA).
The Switchgear Facility provides redundant automated switchgear units and other electrical equipment supporting the two-existing In-Flight Interceptor Communications System (IFICS) Data Terminals (IDTs).
